The procedure for Teeth-In-A-Day consists of 5 parts:
-
On the first appointment, a Cone Beam CT image is taken of your jaws, along with impressions of your teeth, and photos of your smile. You consult with the doctor on what you'd like your teeth to look like, as well as their color. The doctor reviews your CBCT image to plan where the implants will be placed and sends your models to the lab to start fabricating your temporary teeth.
-
The second appointment is when the surgery takes place & the new temporary teeth are delivered. The surgery consists of removing any residual teeth, bone grafting, and placing 5-6 implants. If the implants are stable enough, the doctor will connect the lab-fabricated acrylic teeth (i.e., hybrid) to the implants. Since this is a fixed-appliance, you do not have to worry about taking it in and out, and you will experience less pain with chewing during the healing time. The final result is walking out with a new set of teeth!
-
Between the second and third appointment are some brief follow ups to ensure proper healing is taking place.
-
The third appointment takes place as early as 3 months after the surgery appointment. On this appointment, final impressions are taken. Any changes that the patient wants to make is discussed with the doctor, for example, color or shape of the teeth. The impressions are then sent to the lab to fabricate the final hybrid made of zirconia.
-
On the fourth appointment, the hybrid is delivered and screwed onto the implants.
The key to this procedure is in the strategic placing of the implants themselves. Using advanced CBCT scanning technology, we’ll find the strongest, thickest part of your jawbone and place the implants there. Some will even be placed at an angle to help provide maximum support. Most other practices offer this procedure only using 4 implants, but we believe this is entirely too risky. If one implant fails, your entire smile is in jeopardy. More implants mean more stability and a better long term outcome.
Benefits of Teeth-in-a-Day Over Traditional Dentures
Replacing missing teeth with traditional partial or full dentures is always better than living without teeth. However, compared to removable dentures, implant supported Teeth-in-a-Day treatments have a number of benefits, including:
-
Dental implants help stabilize the jaw bone and prevent bone atrophy or thinning due to aging
-
Prevention of facial collapse and facial muscle atrophy, and thus looking older than you are
-
You don't have to remember to take your teeth out at night
-
Cures gastric issues by bringing back your natural chewing ability
-
Eat more comfortably
-
No more sores from ill-fitting dentures
-
Increased confidence
-
Don't have to deal with "goop" or applying unpleasant adhesives to your dentures to keep them in place
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF TEETH-IN-A-DAY
-
Speed: This is one of the quickest ways to replace a row of missing teeth, even compared to traditional dentures. You can literally wake up in the morning missing a row of teeth and go to bed that night with a complete smile.
-
Versatility: This procedure works even for patients who have jaw-bones that are not thick or healthy enough to support traditional implant-retained dentures, meaning now, even more, people can benefit from dental implants.
-
Natural Appearance: Because these dentures are anchored below your gum line just like your natural teeth, they’ll appear more like real teeth. There won’t be a noticeable line where the prosthetic ends and these dentures are also much less bulky than traditional ones.
-
Longevity: Thanks to the internal support for your jaw and gums provided by the implants, these dentures will maintain their fit for much longer than traditional ones.
-
Strength: Normal dentures rely on small metal clasps, your remaining teeth, or natural suction for support. With Teeth-In-A-Day, however, surgical grade titanium implants help keep the denture nice and secure. It gives a patient a stronger bite force more similar to natural teeth, allowing them to eat a wider variety of foods with ease and confidence.
HOW MUCH DO TEETH-IN-A-DAY COST?
The cost of Teeth-In-A-Day can vary from person to person depending on how many teeth need to be replaced and how many implants are required to do it. Typically, it costs about $4,000 to restore a single tooth using a dental implant, and this can be multiplied for each implant needed to support the denture. While this may cost more upfront than a traditional denture, it is often the better financial choice in the long run.
A traditional full denture can easily cost up to $5,000, and because they do very little to deter jawbone deterioration and gum recession, they usually need to be replaced every 5-7 years. Implant-retained dentures, on the other hand, can easily last for decades with the proper maintenance (implants often last for 30 years or more), and they won’t lose their fit after just a couple of years. Plus, they are one of the few treatments that help maintain the jaw’s shape and strength, which is not only essential to your appearance but your long term oral health as well.
The cost of Teeth-In-A-Day can often be mitigated by insurance, and our practice also offers a number of financing options that start at only a few hundred dollars a month. Altogether, this procedure often ends up costing much less than a traditional denture over the course of a person’s lifetime in addition to offering a number of unique benefits.
